Enlightened Age Entertainment, Inc.,
Land Rick McDowell
Enlightened Age Entertainment spokesperson Susan Davis announced
that the company signed Rick McDowell to lead its online strategy
gaming business as President. “We are delighted to have attracted
the individual we feel is ideally qualified to lead EAE to success
in this untapped market. Mr. McDowell, while Senior Vice President
and Treasurer of Blockbuster, Inc., demonstrated big-market savvy,
including efforts such as assembling a $1.9 billion credit facility
that allowed that company to launch its IPO in 1999. Following that,
he managed the capital structure of Blockbuster, reducing its debt
more than $1 billion and battling successfully for the important
credit rating upgrade to investment grade – the only such
upgrade anywhere in the entertainment industry in 2002. Perhaps
more important to EAE, Mr. McDowell is the multiple national award
winning game designer/producer of arguably the best multi-player
strategy game to date in any medium: Alamaze. He may be the
only individual ever to become both a senior executive for a Fortune
500 sized company and an established, highly regarded game designer
and creative marketer. We are confident he will provide the leadership
Enlightened Age Entertainment needs to successfully bring new, exciting,
and best-in-class games to the young web-based strategy gaming market.”
